Everyone knows that winter makes us susceptible to colds – whether due to dry heated air, cold, wind, and wetness outdoors 🌬️, or due to a lack of sunlight, which provides us with much more than just valuable vitamin D. In TCM, "colds" usually arise from an interplay of these external climatic factors (especially cold/wind) and our personal internal constitution. According to TCM, in winter our energy increasingly moves inwards, making the surface (skin/nose/throat) more vulnerable and susceptible if our defenses are not strong enough. 🛡️
We become particularly susceptible if our "center" (digestive power) is weakened and the kidney energy, which is important for heat production in the body, is heavily strained. A diet with dairy products, sugar, cold foods, tropical fruits, raw food, and wheat products is unfortunately particularly unfavorable in this context. With a constitutionally weak "center," these foods significantly increase mucus production 🤧. Therefore, it is better to avoid the above foods during a cold and to prevent one.
And if you are currently sick, the 7 TCM home remedies + additional dietary tips, which you can currently find on my blog, are particularly powerful. 🍵

You only need a few ingredients for the recipes and you can wonderfully alleviate your symptoms with them. Each of the recipes is assigned to a different type of cold, i.e., TCM distinguishes between different types of colds or cold stages depending on the predominant symptoms 🌡️. Interestingly, bitter substances are also used in the recipes because bitter helps to break up tenacious mucus and strengthen digestive/transformative power.
My recommendation at this point: The formula of 49 bitter herb ingredients from ANCENASAN.
