Microalgae vs. seaweed: Where is there more iodine?
through ANCENASAN Admin on December 15, 2024
In general, seaweed contains significantly higher levels of iodine than chlorella and spirulina. 🌱For example, 100 grams of dried brown seaweed (e.g. wakame, kombu) can contain between 1,000 and Contains 8,000 micrograms of iodine. Red algae (e.g. nori) usually contain slightly less iodine, but still considerable amounts.
👉 In comparison, the iodine content in microalgae such as chlorella, which lives in fresh water, and spirulina, which lives inAlkaline salt lakes or lagoons usually grow lower. The exact values may vary, but typically chlorella algae contain around 30-100 micrograms of iodine per 100 grams, while Spirulina algae can contain around 10-50 micrograms of iodine per 100 grams. Since the consumption quantities ofSince freshwater algae are relatively small, the iodine intake from them is hardly significant.💚 The iodine content in our Master Greens Juice Powder therefore comes almost exclusively from the brown one Seaweed Kelp and the red algae Dulse.
